Concerned about the bad quality of uk made goods. Favoured simplification and standardization: arts and crafts in america (f. l. wright & stickley) Flw ward willits house c. 1900: l. wright wanted artist to create affordable that is accessible to all. Also had to be simplicity that used high quality goods, made with the technology of its time. Designers should rely on simpler forms to attract the masses, and embrace the use of machines. Wright wanted people to look at new designs such as locomotives, and other machines, where artist had to adapt to new technology to appeal to the masses. These hand-made designed stain glasses windows, looked like they were manufactured due to the simplistic design. Rectangular shape, and solid angles give a sense of sturdiness.
