Basic terminology we will cover: story, form, new media, trans media, podcasting, story worlds, branching narratives / videogame narratives, augmented reality (ar) Deadlines: vr/ar script, sept 26th ( 20%) a script for visual or augmented reality, inspired by the concept of family, assignment #2: podcast script, oct 31st (30%) Three 500-word pieces of creative non-fiction inspired by the concept of home, plus 6 - 12 accompanying pieces of transmedia (audio, video, graphics, animation) hosted on a tumblr site built for this project. Participation questions and readings: in-class writing every tuesdays (10%). Written response to 10 questions posted once a week in class on canvas, related to an in-class activity or discussion. Bring a laptop or tablet to submit it: readings are online on canvas or through the syllabus (hyperlinks); upcoming readings are on the announcements portal in canvas.
