It is an account of a given period of time in the life of the author. This memoir takes us to formative moments in pearson"s life and documents the conflicts and challenges; in short, all the circumstances that have shaped him and led him to become the person he is. It is a not, in a very really sense, just his story. It is a story of how he navigates expectations placed upon him, mainstream social norms and values, a subculture"s norms and values, as well as his own desires and ambitions. It is a narrative that records how he confront what we might call the unchosen conditions of his life. How has punk shaped him and what are the values and practices of punk that we see in the test: to put it differently, marxism/cultural studies and punk. It is a type of ethos, or a way of acting.
