Text don"t make meaning, this is a critical approach that contends that reading and interpretation is a creative ac by a reader. Literature does not make timeless or universal meaning, each reader has a different perspective towards meanings in multiple works. Literature involves us in a transaction; rather than making direct and complete statements, it must be interpreted. The reader acts on the text, the text acts on the reader. Actual reader: i will bring my unique interpretative tendencies to a text regardless of its designs. The actual and implied reader exist simultaneously without becoming identical. Reflects upon those social and cultural force/ presumptions that may explain why you interpret the way you do. If readers are shaped by the cultures within which they read, maybe it is fair to say that reader"s responses are not all that unique. No one reads/ interpret in a vacuum.
