Born in the painting workshops of bologna n 1580s and in the sculpture and architecture workshops of rome from 1620. No one from this time would call themselves baroque (ppl still argue about it) bc the term was seen as over the top. Big theme in baroque is to capture the attention of the viewer. Baroque is meant to wow you using perspective. No one would think of themselves as a rococo architect or artist.
