They are not external to this world: did not make it, a part of the world, most important difference from humans is immorality. Gods are not perfect - have weaknesses and limitations: i. e. zeus. Gods" actions are justi ed for being human . Gods cannot do everything and were not necessarily good: makes them easier to understand * bc they"re like humans. Each major god has a personality and is active in many different spheres. Gods usually pursue their own interest like humans. Some gods had a local associations with places. Olympus: zeus of athens, zeus of sparta, etc . I. e. in athens he would be more concerned about things. I. e. in sparta would be more concerned with people. Hesiod, theogony, chapter 3 in textbook: verily at the rst chaos [void] came to be. The sons of gaia and ouranos were called titans, titanides the daughters: gaia = earth, ouranos = sky, rhea, kronos = time.
