Goddess of sex, and love by extension: can be associated with the sexual aspects of marriage, eros associated with desire, outside of hesiod, eros is usually aphrodite"s son. Can sometimes play the villain: this is true of all gods, but she plays this role a lot, she often appears in stories of dysfunctional love, her own marriage reflects this. Married to hephaestus, but often sleeps with ares: she takes many lovers but ares is the most frequent one. Often difficult to distinguish from other goddesses in art: can hold a mirror, an apple, or scallop shell, apples are associated with courtship and sex for whatever reason, this is why eve eats an apple. No particular animal associated with her, but sometimes pretty birds like swans, doves, and geese: hera is associated with the peacock. In greece, there are only two clear seasons. She is riding a goose, which is the only real clue.
