Medea discovers she can hurt jason through their children. There is a great conjuring scene, represents extravagant behaviour, and the evils of extravagance. Messenger comes in and tells of the destruction of corinth. Subconsciously she has already decided the kill her children. This comes to her consciousness in act 5. She beckons her children to her in scene when she discovers what she plans to do. Really sudden change from talking about how much she loves them and the comfort from them, and then decides she will kill them to hurt jason. First, maternal instincts repulsed by the plan, but the evil within her takes over. End up with medea on the roof, jason down below. Symbolizes the positions, medea is in control, almost supernatural. She kills the second child, throws to body down and she exits on dragon back.
