Plutocracy (rule of the wealthy/rich): elected chief magistrates, declared war. Plebeians: majority, have no say: conquest of italy, struggle of the plebs for more rights. Started with the etruscans: c. 500-400 lati(cid:374) league (cid:894)latiu(cid:373) helped the(cid:373)(cid:895) Etruscans did not join together to fight them. This resulted in them being taking over by the romans. Gauls (celts): c. 387 sacked rome, peace by 331. Was tough for the romans as they were used to hoplites/phalanx fighting. Samnites did well, but romans changed their tactics and one.
