Assembly based on residence in a curia (ward) All the adult males came together for election. Where you lived was divided based on classes: also divided into smaller groups called centuries. The roman people (adult male citizens) divided according to centuries , originally groups of 100 men, where membership was determined by wealth. The centuries were unevenly distributed among the five classes in that the first class had a majority of the centuries. Under the public, they were more than advisory, they became the legislative body of the people. The first class had the majority which had more power. The rich controlled the republic, who were mostly patritians. An assembly of the roman people which consisted solely of plebians. They voted not according to century but according to their tribe. This is the same as the concillium plebis: divided by tribes but includes the patricians. All patrician at the start of the republic.
