It is a possibility of direction that the poet will flag for you. A recurring image is a good candidate for a symbol or a something that appears at the climax of any situation. Will direct connotations associated with the symbol by the context in which the symbol appears. Uses symbols in a fixed pattern within a story. Symbols are employed in a continuous and consistent system of a narrative.
