Calypso"s island (the beginning of the present: thrown completely away from the present of the story and from the narrative of the story, the narrative voice disappears in the section (odysseus" own voice retells this section) First person character narrator: normally has a limited knowledge of storyworld and events; may have explicit bias of interpretation. Third person anonymous narrator: often had nearly omniscient knowledge of storyworld and events; may also have represented bias. Narrative pace is book nine is used in a very interesting way because we get three stories. He makes three stops in his adventure, all of which turn out to be bad.
