(p. 200) Indeed, capitalism works best when children stay indoors in malls and in front of televisions or computer screens. (p. 201) We are unwittingly undermining our children"s physical health, mental health, connection to adults, sense of continuity with the past, connections to nature, the health of ecosystems, a sense of commonwealth, and hope for a decent future. (p. 204) Overall point is that we"re outside the range that future generations can be healthy, something is wrong with out meanings system.
