Also affected india"s value systems and influenced how india saw itself it also created new social classes and hierarchies. The east india company gets trading rights in bengal, but soon starts abusing the rights. They get warned by the nawab of bengal called shiraj-ud-daula, they don"t listen. In fact, they even start militarizing the fort they had. Shiraj is angry and he arrests a few of them and locks them up. Now, there is a controversy here, which is known as the calcutta black hole story.
