The second and final essay is to be 8-10 pages long, double-spaced. We have seen the holocaust depicted on film and read about it in various genres of writing. Elie wiesel wrote a memoir about his time in auschwitz. Norman goda wrote an historical overview of the holocaust and its global context. Laurent binet wrote an historical novel about the assassination of reinhard heydrich, one of the architects of the final solution. In this paper i want you to discuss the different forms of holocaust representation. Explain your personal preference, if you have one. Be sure to use examples from the texts (and films) to support your points. Include hhhh, goda, and wiesel for sure- could also include films: synthesizing material other people have written and published. Need balance: wiesel= authenticity of experience, goda= academic survey, historian, binet= facts + human experience, holocaust seems unique because we are so close to it.
