Document Summary

Question 1: in late 19th-early 20th century, europe witnessed a resurgence of imperialism, as several european states proceeded to build or expand their empires. New imperialism or one specific example of empire building pursued by europeans at that time. I think that one of the most pressing causes for the new imperialism that emerged in the late 19th-early 20th century is industrialization. European states needed to both build and or expand their empires in order to keep with the demands of the emerging market economy. The new technology that was created during the industrial revolution made mass production of products easier and thus producers needed more people to sell their products too. In addition to this is also required the use of more and more raw materials so they had to seek out new areas that could provide the materials they needed to produce products.
