Judaism statue is much weaker compared to ecclesia. Jews should be kept around to serve the politics in the area. Jews should be visually degraded and separated in christian society to remind them of their wrong doings. What happened in modernity we have one unit, which was one law applicable to all. But, in the middle ages you do(cid:374)"t have si(cid:374)gle e(cid:374)tity, you have several: peasa(cid:374)ts, clergy, merchants, each regulated by separate autonomous law, court system. Jew was a corporation automated by a special law. Jews paid special taxes, no such thing as general taxes, Romans wanted dangerous rebels among the jews out of their territory, expelled a lot of jewish but not all, they started going to the east, west, persia, siberia, italy, germany, southern france. 10th cen ce: jews lived in diaspora, lived outside of birth place, (palestine, israel) Unlike many other people, who migrated from their homeland, some how they survived.
