Anxiety sometimes makes parents say very little. Can"t tell the truth (cheating, bad in bed, etc. ) Many parents can make plans for children without assistance. Parents must balance not drawing children into adult disputes while listening to their views: effects of separation on children (hetherington & kelly, 2002): Initial distress, especially if they move, have lower income, new unstable step-parent relationships. Long term: on average, negative effects in terms of education, health, adult relationships etc. , compared to children from intact families. Majority do not experience significant long term negative effects but have distressed memories decades later: federal divorce act & ontario children"s law reform act (c. l. r. a. ) Custody: right to make decisions about child.
