Framing is around shaping preferences in certain ways. The way things are framed affect choices and preferences. It is only effective is one does not know they are being persuaded. Someone is filling your mind with ideas. Sometimes what we think is the real function is the latent function. Power can be exercised through institutional behaviour. There is a difference between what we believe and our behaviour. Consent: agree to power, can be explicit or implicit. Coercion: incentives that allow you to give consent as you don"t have an option, ex. Authority: appeal to nature power; appeal to given power; appeal to earn power, earned authority.
