Damage to brain always has an impact. Any neurons that are not used degenerate. Central nervous system (cns): is made up of the brain and the spinal cord. Peripheral nervous system (pns): made up of the peripheral nerves; symapthtic and parasympathetic nervous system. The wrinkles in the brain are made up of: gyrus (gyri): the bumps on the brain, sulcus (sulci): the grooves in the brain between the gyri. The brain is made up of: meninges: three layers of protective tissue; dura mater, arachnoid mater, pia mater, blood vessles: arteries supply fresh blood to the brain. Brodmann areas: areas of the (cid:272)ere(cid:271)ral (cid:272)orte(cid:454) kor(cid:271)ia(cid:374) brod(cid:373)a(cid:374)(cid:374) di(cid:448)ed it i(cid:374)to 52 areas. Brain function can be mapped by using: neuroanatomy, studying brain lesions, brain stimulation, brain imaging cons. Many people used to believe that language abilities depended on specific regions, but now many believe that language is achieved through communication between brain networks.
