Say you"re talking to someone (p2) and you have a look on terror, (p2) is going to spin around and see why you have this look! Looked at stimuli on facial expression, studied this also in different cultures. Before only 6 were identified, but a few years ago, contempt was added. A lot of people argued that contempt and disgust were the same - but ekman argued against this since they employed different muscle groups. Research into lying, depression, persuasion has been used to understand emotion, behaviour. They used pet to measure rcbf when subjects viewed images of male/female faces with happy/fearful expression. The subjects were then required to indicate whether the face is male/female ! Have increasing fear they are able to make this gradient by morphing the neutral face with the fear face! Ex: in b - 25% from fear face, 75% from neutral face. In 125% - they magnified the features of fear.
