How do researchers deal with thousands of pages of data to look at. Use diff. criteria than we used for the quntiative research (focusing on reliability and validity ) Credibility- having important key informant, research conducted with high standards, need researcher to be fully engaged with events and interview ppl widely, feel like we really geet the inside story. Even though info is very specific we have a sense tht it can be ttransferable to othe groups/places. Confirmability paralles objectivity, interested in seeing if researcher has manintained obectvity , should be a level of detachment strengths and limits of qualitiative data strengths. Proximate up closee , often direct, in the field. Appreciation for culture- better undestanding of culture, nuances of situations. Explore new areas, develop new theories oor concepts critiques. Difficult to replicate not as if someone can do the exact same thing with the same group etc.
