Ascribed deviance: occurs when the rule breaker is defined or labelled by others as having a physical impairment or condition (ex: rejected or physical disability , the blue family) -excluded, rejected for some disability. Achieved deviance: entails some activity on the part of the rule breaker and is conducted with purpose and intent (ex: marijunana users, stealing a purse) Rule breaking behaviour had to be achieved. It occurred, and to what degree did they offend the observers. Fundamental attribution error: the mistake that we commonly make for trying to figure out if someone is responsible for their behaviour. Assuming its the individual trait, not the social setting.
