Document Summary

The personal and social consequences of any medium (an extension of ourselves) results from the new scale that is introduced into our affairs by any new technology. Anything can qualify as media because anything beyond our flesh is an extension of us. Extends our skin and has the ability to keep our feet warm. Driving a car is an extension of our legs and arms. We are not just talking about pop culture media. Human technologies total, mind-warping, body-altering, illusive truth (newly created truth about yourself/ world) Anything would qualify as media media extends our natural organs. Reshapes the speed of the pace of what we live. And the scale of what we live. Depending how it is being used and how it is sending a message. Light extends our day, to work longer: natural things arent media. Body not as media but can change into media.
