Conservatism - wants the preservation of a particular view of the world. Macrocosm of difficulty is best understood in the microcosm of individual habits/practices. Macrocosm - the whole of a complex structure, especially the world or universe, contrasted with a small or representative part of it. African americans in the south didn"t get same education as white americans. 1960s - 1970s: universities started accepting blacks on personal merits - bootstrapping. White americans still had the upperhand when it came to the job market due to them working towards getting into school. Presuppositions - what we uncritically hold to be true. Self-reflection - the internalization of the topic/object of study. Ultimately will reveal presuppositions and prejudices we hold. Not necessarily an argument of right or wrong. Binary oppositions are not observed but constructed. I know what x" is because i know what x" is not . Knowing the parts is equal to knowing the whole.
