Document Summary

Article # 1 communication- keeping the channels open. We communicate verbally as well as non-verbally and most of our communication is via non-verbal gestures. Oral communication becomes even stronger and effective when we supplement it with our body language, which includes posture, facial expressions, gestures etc. While communicating in writing, we don"t have the opportunity to express ourselves through non-verbal means. Therefore, it is important to choose the form of communication that will deliver the best possible outcome, i. e. effective communication of the message by the sender to the receiver. Noise is considered the biggest barrier of effective communication. Noise, whether external or internal, affects the communication process in a negative way. Therefore, it is very important to not only avoid noise but also identify the various other communication barriers and try to prevent them from blocking the channels of effective communication.
