The learning journey: stages of professional development & transformative. Development of practice, skills & knowledge in cyc is a life-long process marked by the general phrases of novice, experienced & mature practice. Terms like experience", mature" & wisdom" acknowledge that there is both an experiential & a reflective component to being good at what ones does comes only with time. The world of practice is not simple development of skill & knowledge is not linear, nor is it defined by evenly divided stages, with clear transition points. The ideas of maturity & wisdom recognizes that as an adult the view of the world will change, values & beliefs will be challenged & perhaps changed as a result of the work done. Experiential learning, self, relationship & context are humanist concepts are important because they affect practitioner development. Developed a 3-stage model outlining what might be expected as one transitions through various stages of professional development.
