Children"s rights are an essential component of international human rights law. Convention on the rights of the child: most successful international human rights treaty. They guide state policies and programs and influence society & individual. Founder of save the children movement after ww1. Died with the children in gas chamber training and running an orphanage. Un human rights after ww2 although not specifically for children, still applies some of it. International covenant on civil and political rights identify children to a limited extent. The convention on the rights of persons with disabilities also. Children should have protection according to their best interest and be entitled with a name, nationality, social security, special treatment, education and care for children with disabilities. They are treated as objects of the law, rather than subjects. International labour organization (ilo) addresses minimum working age and against the worst forms of child labour.
