Document Summary

Clonal: mutation rate is the element of change ex: bacterial and viruses. Non-clonal: genetic recombination is the mechanism of change ex: animals and humans. Attractive forces between water molecules (hydrogen bonding- non covalent bond, easy to break) In the middle a lipid molecule, one part that is negative. The water molecules are high ordered around the fa because they don"t want to react with it . When something orders itself, the entropy decreases (water) Water forms weak hydrogen bonds with itself and solutes. The electronegativity of the oxygen atom induces a net dipole moment. Because of dipole moment water can serve as a donor and an acceptor. Dipole: one end that"s negatively charged one end that"s positively charged. Many type of non-covalent interactions (hydrogen bonds, ionic bonds, hydrophobic bonds: regions that don"t want to react with water that are pushed together, van der walls) Replace water water interactions that happen in pure water, changing the concentration.
