Observations: naturalistic: researcher sits down in a classroom (hidden) and observes the children, laboratory: going into a lab setting and recording the behaviour, con: people are going to change their behaviour. Performance measures: giving specific tasks for people to complete (giving a multiple choice test) Case study: tells you a lot about one person, hard to generalize. Individual may move to a remote colony in an unpopulated area to learn about their culture. Experiments: experimental group: being exposed to an experimental manipulation, control: similar characteristics as the experimental group but do not receive the treatment.
