Professor lecture notes: speech cannot be ramble, it must take the viewers somewhere, with you. Introduction and conclusion are the highest points of interest in every speech. Introduction of the speech (most important part of your speech) Every speech has a : specific purpose, central idea, purpose of the speech is to prove the central idea. Body of the speech: present the points in the same order as which you ordered them in the introduction, point of the body is to prove the central idea. If it doesn"t address the central idea, leave it out: don"t include filler just to lengthen the speech, only include it if it addresses the central idea. Conclusion of the speech: reference the central idea, close with quote or statistic, something that leaves the audience thinking, anecdote, summarize key points before you make the final quote, statistic, anecdote, etc .
