The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion it has taken place shaw. One basic definition is the transmission of information and meaning from one. Effective communication occurs when the receiver understands the idea as the individual or group to another (guffey) sender intended it. Anything that effects that communication between a sender and receiver. This is where the possibility of miscommunication comes into play. Channel overload (too much information sent over a single channel) E. g. i"m too angry to talk to you right now . Semantic interference (not sharing a common vocabulary) Cultural interference (not sharing common frames of reference) Environmental interference (e. g. things outside, the physical etc ) When people don"t trust, that"s when rumours start. A good listener and a careful reader understand the information being given to. Proactive offer more information than asked, so they get what they need without you asking. Consists of words o graphics or both.
