Communications theory and audience analysis - refer to process of creating messages that are well received and acted upon appropriately by the person(s) the message is intended for. There are different concepts and techniques for this. It must be clear, easily understood, correct and concise. The communications process has: (1) person creating the message (speaker), (2) the message, (3) the person or persons receiving the message. Communications theory deals with how we communicate and what"s the optimum way to present info. Audience analysis refers to concepts and techniques used when tailoring messages to the needs and wants of the intended audience (ie. think of advertising; ads are directed to certain target segments) These principles apply equally to both written and oral communication. If communication in a workplace is not clear and effective, it could result in additional costs and lost business opportunities (generally, practical and economic setbacks)
