Integration comes in multiple ways: end-to-end model: macro then middle then micro, fully integrated model: concepts borrowed, put together in new way some argue against integration (ex. Hirschi) and instead for development of new theories. An integrated model depicts the middle etiological paths of juvenile delinquency. Such as model incorporates dimensions of the social structure and the social process representing the social environment and social interaction . Instead of just looking at individual theories, should connect them together, use different combinations. Combinations of theories used: different combos are taken: social control + strain +social learning + labelling, social control + deterrence, routine activities theory + low-self control, *social control, straini and social learning are popular. Do not need to memorize what theories took what combos. Know what theories are and how they may work together. Avoids inherent biases; theoretical components arranged to complement each other.
