Looks at the elements of the therapeutic milieu & uses this to determine what types of interventions should occur to enhance optimal development (physical, emotional, social, cultural & ideological safety, inclusiveness & affirmation) This concept empowers children, youth &/or their families deal directly with their own issues & those of the group(s) that they identify with. The primary goal of child advocacy is to elevate the voice of youth. This means more than empowering youth to speak out on their own behalf. It means more than faithfully replaying their words.
