Trustees are supposed to have the best interest of the students in mind. One trustee in toronto called a parent the n word to her face, school board investigation; she apologized and now she"s still getting paid. We as the people elected these people into power, and these people now have the power over what happens to the children and families within the school. Decides who is in the behavioral classes, who doesn"t get the services, who gets expelled. No code of ethics, not mandatory or not necessary for any agencies (other than tdsb) Credentials between w and c (cyw/cyc), we are getting bachelor of arts not bachelor of child and youth care. Critical reflection is critiquing yourself, looking at the oppressor within, the bad guy isn"t always outside but sometimes inside. No clear definition of child and youth care. Different credentials for different positions; residential settings don"t require cyc degree.
