Lecture six: (un)expected art institutions: historicizing art therapy. Think about concept mental health literacy (process of how we understand mental illness as the story, truth, way to take up madness) Art can be seen as mental health literacy: reproducing the narrative (single story) that madness is mental illness, that we can"t separate the spheres of perception that madness is more than mental health. Leah lakshmi piepzna-samarasinha is a queer, sick, and disabled nonbinary femme writer and cultural worker of burger/ tamil sri lankan and irish/ roma ascent.
