Please answer the following questions (maximum 200 words per response). Please post a reply to at least two people"s posts: compare the setting of the shining to that of at least one of the stories covered in modules 1 and 2. The shining vs the fall of the house of usher. The main plot of the shining takes place in the overlook hotel. Similar to the house of usher, they are both large mansion-like buildings that have a sense of danger about them. Because we don"t know the exact location of the house of usher, the main points to focus on are the atmospheres of each building. The narrator"s first impression of the house of usher was that it was gloomy and melancholy feeling. The shining when wendy and jack were admiring the views of the hotel, danny was able to see that it wasn"t beautiful like at first glance and that there was something more to it.
