We then time travel forward to america and 1969 via kurt vonnegut"s slaughterhouse- Linger in america in the early 1970"s with ursula le guin"s the dispossessed (1974) Beginning with wells means encountering one of the so called fathers and science. Fiction - a title wells traditionally shares with jules verne. Nuclear powered submarine at the end of the war. Fable-like stories that seem cool to children (like invisibility powers) Nationality: british and french that get the sci-fi started but the americans that make it popular.
