Social entrepreneurs - essential to creating many of these social, environmental, and technological changes by solving complex problems - social problems that have economic consequences and economic problems that have social consequences. New world order characterized by global interconnections and interdependence of business, society, communities, regions, and countries. Technological innovation, decreasing natural resources, shifting demographics, social change, and political unrest contribute to the complexity of problems and the opportunities for solutions. Because the assumptions upon which new ventures were created have changed. Until 1990s, energy was inexpensive labour was readily available (and very cheap), loans were easy to come by and to start a business only a computer, cellphone and internet was require. Drivers of opportunities were technology or market forces - now drivers have shifted, creating new assumptions and conditions (from simple market dynamics to more complex environmental and social catalysts)
