This new dimension is called indulgence versus restraint (ind). Indulgence versus restraint (ind) indulgence stands for a society that allows relatively free gratification of basic natural human drives related to enjoying life and having fun. Restraint stands for a society that suppresses gratification of needs and regulates it by means if strict social norm. Over time companies may develop key areas of expertise whihc=a are distinctive to that company and critical to the company"s slide. The bullwhip effect is the uncertainty caused from distorted information flowing up and down the supply chain. The bullwhip effect describes how inaccurate information, a lack of transparency throughout the supply chain, and a disconnect between production and real-time supply chain information result in the lost revenue, bad customer service, high inventory levels and unrealized profits.
