What is a fibre: small hair like structure, smallest unit of any textile product, natural vs manufactured, combined or twisted into yarns, yarns are used to weave or knit fabric. Staple and filament: what is the difference, filament- long and continuous, 1600, staple - short, all used in filament form, just cut to make staple form. Mono and multi filament: difference, mono means one, now filament fibre, one fibre making the yarn. ex, fishing rod, multi means many, multiple have been grouped together to make the yarn. Serviceability: a textile products ability to meet a need, aesthetics, durability, comfortable, appearance retention, easy to care for, not harmful to environment, reasonable cost over garment lifetime, safe to wear. Property = characteristics: fibre length, fibre shape, amount of crimps, fibre diameter. Softer, smother, stronger (don"t need as many as them), and more lustrous.
