- “Don’t look at something as “I don’t want to do that” – look at the opportunity”
- Chatelaine interview to work there took 2 hrs (very long interview)

- Then offered a job at Holt Renfrew, been working for four months
- One of the most important things in networking (talk to people, put yourselves out there, or
YOU WILL NOT MAKE IT!!!)
- Must be involved in social media (keep it clean!)

- When she hires people: looks for tone, language, etc.
- Consciously think of who you want to be and how you want to present yourself.
- “Don’t wait for permission”
- She never waited for permission or ‘hoped’ for a door to open
- What do you have to lose if you try something?
- It’s 5% glamour, and 95% grunt work – but the glamour is pretty fabulous :P
- Try to personalize something when networking, and know when to move on (don’t just say, ‘hi)
- A really good designer is a really good business person
