Drastic changes in family structure (new partner, step parents/siblings, half-brothers/sisters) Study found that separated men were less likely to maintain relationships with their children (had same responsibilities/rights as married men) *thus, main concern is for children + their rxn to unstable marriages/families. Concept of children financially supporting their elder parents/families may come back.
