Glo-bus  Its an online. PC-based exercise where you run a digital camera company in head-to-head competition against companies run by other people.  You compete against other companies in groups as competitors  Stay ontop of changing markets and competitive conditions. Try to avoid being outmaneuvered.  Quiz 1 – 2 percent covers the participants guide  Quiz 2- 4 percent covers the company operating reports and certain infoo  At the end of the expersize u will be asked to complete a 12 Key Study Questions 1. What are the challenges of working in the new economy? 2. What are organizations like in the new workplace? 3. Who are managers and what do they do? 4. What is the management process? 5. How do you learn the essential managerial skills and competencies? STUDY QUESTION ONE – WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES OF WORKING IN A NEW ECONOMY ? Motivation: Overview of the 21 century workplace  How do the trends regarding intellectual capital, globalization, technology, diversity, ethics and careers are helping to define the new economy?  Multiple reasons.. brainstorm and write down notes later Intellectual capital Is the collective brain power or shared knowledge of a workforce that can be used to create value.
