Folding knife gets pushed down between the rollers and folds the sheet. Not sensitive to extreme paper weights and thicknesses. Average to low make-ready time: don"t have to set roller gaps. Good accuracy: however, not as good as the buckle folder. Low space requirements: four right angled folding units are stacked on top of each other. Can produce up to 128 page signature. Buckle folding system and knife folding systems are combined. Requires less space than most buckle folding machines. More inexpensive than most buckle folding machines. Paper with extreme characteristics (very light or very heavy) can be folded more easily than on buckle folding machines. Numerous folding possibilities but not as varied as multi-folding station buckle folding machines. Best rollers are a combination of both metal and polyurethane. Conventional grooved steel roller: the groove running along the length of the roller results in high maintenance due to spray powder being stuck.
