Chapter 28 – AIDAR curve ­good marketing converts suspects to prospects  ­prospects into trail customers ▯ trial customers to loyal customers ­without advertising how would we be able to know what to buy ▯ xample: Apple compares iPods ­sometimes there’s bad adverting ▯ xample: roof of car coming down in 16 secs rather than 30 sec 4 things to keep in minds: many companies ignore marketing until they 1. experience a downtime in either sales or estimate requests 2. makes large capital investments for new technologies example: device that can do metallic inks 3. increase their workforce to know they work weekends, work second shifts  ▯ ose a customer that represents a large portion of the business 4.  ▯things you will be asked AWARENESS­ if people don’t know your series exist how do you expect them to buy  from you ­unless customer knows how to benefit from services/ products  example: trade show  ▯with new technologies  and products that offers new services ­you have created will not be used to its full capacity ­ know how customers can benefit from this Example­ web to print portal  ▯make customers easier how to use if the customer doesn’t  know how it works or doesn’t work for the customer ▯ creates a problem INTEREST ­once market knows about it ▯ next step is make them want to use it ­create an emotion that gives them the sense that they must have a product that they  didn’t know about yesterday  DECISION ­some print buyers are required to get 3­6 bids   ▯prompt the customer to make the decision  ▯indicate a decision  ▯make it easier for customer to do business with you  ▯what s in it for them  ▯sometimes it’s hard to change printing customer because it takes forever  ▯lots of  customer don’t want to changes suppliers because of the effort it takes to find a new one ACTION­ print buyers have to be confident to need and exceed their exceptions  ­ask for the order ­offer
