Study of colour mixing & colour impact! Colour is different wavelengths of visible light! To see colour, you must have light! How it works: red ball = red wavelength re ected, all others absorbed! Visible spectrum = red orange yellow green blue indigo violet! Additive colour system: ultraviolet light, sir isaac newton, system of white light, rgb added together to create white = tv works this way, medium is projected light, any 2 additive make an subtractive! Subtractive colour system: system of colour pigments! Mixing 2 colours changes wavelength to produce new colour: any 2 subtractive make an additive, created by johann wolfgang von goethe, primary colours = red, blue, yellow! The 5th colour : colour of paper, when printing on coloured substrate, opaque white paint is underneath the real colour, visual contributor to nal printed product, can simulate paper colour on screen, proofs also simulate paper colour!
