Document Summary

Transfer drums are in between printing units in the press; though all cylinders that are not plate, blanket or impression cylinders are transfer cylinders. Dryer at delivery end are capable of immediately drying the sheets almost immediately after printing (could be uv driers or just regular ink driers) Last printing unit is normally used for the most unique/special component (ie. special colours, metallic etc) in order to preserve the special quality. Grippers must always be adjusted to the caliper of the paper. Perfecting drum (perfecting press) allow paper to be printed on both sides in one run; perfecting unit is normally right in the middle between the printing units of the press; normally perfecting presses print in 4-colour, 8-colour etc. Grippers don"t let go until a new one has gripped it; 2 grippers hold onto the paper and pull it through and let go once another one takes hold of the paper.
