Diaz eventually wins 7 terms again gaining rule (1884-1910) Able to endure - his followers (technocrats) support him because he ensures continued dominance of landlords, supports military & church & ensures legislation passes to maximize investment opportunities fostering economic growth. Wins him considerable support among elite segment of population. However, this destroys the poor, as the rich only get richer. Challenged by francisco madero (run for presidency)
